SiCKO

5 out of 5 for attempting to bring awareness to a problem.

Perfect example, A person with Epilepsy is told now that they’re 18, they can start paying for the $200-a-month prescription which prevents them from having seizures. I mean come-on, they’re 18 now, and a fully realized adult. However that person can’t get a job since they can’t get a license to drive because they have Epilepsy. So that person in fear of loosing the ability to live like a normal human begins to ration their medicine. As a result of the lowered dosage this person has more seizures. And kills him a month later.

The insurance company paid for his funeral, but not the medicine to keep him alive. They saved money AND made a calculated PR move. Yay for for-profit healthcare!
